Some traditional scrapbooking!

Over the weekend I dug out my old crop bag, it's been a long time since I looked in there and I found quite a few lovely surprises. When I started scrapbooking in 2005 I subscribed to the monthly Kit from Scrapagogo {really miss these gorgeous kits!}, there were a few kits I received that were never opened. I had so many that I was working through at the time that I must have just put them in my crop bag for another day....

The other lovely surprise I found was 4 kits I had put together myself. Dates, journaling on scraps of paper and photos!! These were the premade kits I made and put into individual plastic pockets that used to live in my bag for that 'just in case' moment. In case I forgot to replenish the bag or if I ran out of inspiration at a crop.

I also found this little kit in my crop bag:

It's from Deb at Paperturtle, I won a blog giveaway back in May 2011 {read about it here} and put the goodies into a one of my pre-made kits ready to scrap. Again, I never got round to it and it's been in my crop bag for a long time!

Until now! Searching through my bag inspired me to complete some pages. I can't remember the last time I completed a traditional 12x12 scrapbook page, JYC was a Christmas album and PL {or my JYC for that matter} doesn't/didn't contain 12x12 pages.

...and you know what? It felt really good, I can't believe I let my favourite hobby slip for so long! So, on that note, I'm going to share with you my intentions {I'm not keen on the word resolution} for 2015:

♥ Drink more water! This is a must for me, survival on 3/4 cups of coffee a day just isn't an option anymore!
♥ Make more time for me, this isn't just hobbies. It's also looking after myself too.
♥ Make at least 1 scrapbook page a week {LOTW} - that isn't PL. I understand this may have to be flexible as I'm not taking into account holidays, weekends away, life events in general, being ill, taking care of sick children etc. etc! BUT I'm really going to TRY!

HERE is my first one of 2015! Using that cute kit, thank you again Deb! This is a very old photo of me and I don't usually scrapbook pictures of myself but as the cute kit included my initials and my name in scrabble tiles, I thought I should probably use the kit for just that!

Do you have any kits you subscribe to that you would recommend?

Speak soon.

What a lovely surprise finding all those kits must have been..journaling and photos as well? what could be better!

I just received a customs charge for a kit yesterday, so no more buying for a while I think. Putting together stuff from what I have already sounds like a plan I'd better stick to

You've made a lovely page with that kit.
I really must try and use up some older stash this year.

Don't you love the feeling you get when you complete an old kit - it would put a smile on your face. Fabulous page - by the way - with a great smile!

What a great page - you should definitely scrapbook more photos of you!! How FUN to find all those kits. I've been putting together page kits (photos, papers, embellies, etc) for a couple of upcoming crops, but I've never subscribed to a kit club.
