**Photo of the week**

Adam came home from nursery on Tuesday already aware of pancake day - they had been practising with pretend frying pans. He was very excited about trying it again at home and asked me if we could make the pancake go up in the sky! I got quite a few cute pics but this was my favourite of the bunch.......

This week the new carpet arrived and Steve has put up shelves, built furniture and I then I spent some time accessorising and also making a couple more things ;)

This is the most recent picture I have, I am going to take another when the fireplace is finished.

...and in other news I have another crop tomorrow so hopefully I can finish off some papercraft projects too!
Bye for now x

**A list review**

It's been busy here over the last week, the front room has been painted, re-wallpapered and had a fireplace fitted. We have a new carpet coming Wednesday, new furniture going in and then all that is left to do is accessorise and wait for the new sofa to arrive! Want a sneak peak?

That's enough!

Now a quick catch up on crafty bits.....

I finished Document 2011 on my original list so it's time to review the new one!

1. Finish Adam's patchwork quilt (see here)

2. Start Document 2012 {and share more document 2011}

3. Knit a snood/cowl - I quite like the one in the latest Molly makes.

4. Finish mini book for crop weekend, I started it at my last crop but haven't progressed!!

5. Start A week in the life???? I'm not sure about this yet, but I don't have long to decide!

6. Start One Sketch - Kirsty's class that I brought in January and haven't got round to starting

7. Do Cushion for Adam's room - to match the patchwork quilt.

8. Do Cushion for Emily's room - to match Emily's patchwork quilt

9. Do Cushions for Beauty room.

10. Try a new project/technique - more revealed later.

Speaking of cushions I made these too whilst the sewing machine was out.....

The window in our front room is an odd shape so we have to have curtains made, we picked them up when they were finished and I did a quick check that the drop was ok when we got home.....but I didn't open them up! When it was time to hang them one curtain was wider than the width of our window!!!

I was a bit disappointed and thought about taking them back but decided to adjust them myself....and I'm so glad I did as I now have matching cushion covers that I made with the leftover curtain material. I'm also pretty chuffed with my curtain adjusting and the fact that there is going to be a handful of things that I have made in our new front room!!
WIN.WIN!!

**A makeover**

Once upon a time our living room looked like this......

....this was when we didn't spend a lot of time in the living room - before we had children. We didn't think about the colour scheme too much as it was just us so white and light grey didn't seem a silly choice like it would now.....

This is the living room currently.... during the day. Toys, blankets, cushions made into forts - the usual kiddie related play. The white walls no longer resemble white, they now look like a white top that sneakily crept inside a dark wash!

White and light grey are not sensible choices when you have little ones!!

So with this in mind the front room is getting a warm, cosy, makeover that is hopefully more child friendly! The old wallpaper has been removed from the feature wall and the rest of the walls have had a coat of paint, the new carpet is coming next week and hopefully the new {wipe able, child friendly} sofa will not be too far behind. I will update progress as and when it happens.

Adam's patchwork quilt is complete, I finished it Sunday night and it is already well loved.. I'm looking forward to making matching cushions next - Adam's will probably have even more trains on it!!!!

Bye for now

Remember this?

It's been a while.....I thought I would share a snowy picture from this week. I had to giggle when I captured this as Emily looks like she is the supervisor of the whole operation! She didn't last too much longer as she really doesn't like the cold - Adam however loves snow! When asked if he would like a snowman he replied "No, Gordon please!" You may remember this little boy is a wee bit obsessed with Gordon from Thomas the tank engine!!

Other obsessions include the colour orange and the number 10 {I feel like an episode of sesame street!}

I have been working on my quilt tonight so it won't be long and I will be sharing!

*Belated JYC - Part Four... and a bit of knitting*

My mum brought me some new wellies for Christmas and so I got the knitting needles out and made myself some wellie boot liners.....

I used chunky yarn so they are very thick and warm!

Just right for this chilly weather!!

I promise I won't share my JYC for long! I think maybe two more posts at the most!
Here are days 20-27......

I have some journaling to do and put in this envelope page......

It snowed last night and Adam couldn't wait to go and play in it, he requested that we make Gordon the train instead of a snowman!!! We now have one in the front garden and one in the back garden!

I'm off to warm my toes!!
