Cute little cupcakes

What a nice surprise, I was reading my comments this morning and found that the lovely Jen had left a little something for me:

Thank you Jen, this gave me a much needed smile today : )

Blog award etiquette:

  • Firstly I post a piccy of the award - Check
  • Next I share some random facts that I haven't shared before - Check

1. I am currently learning Sign Language, not for any particular reason - I have just always wanted to learn it.

2. I used to do Ballet as a child then decided to give it up at eight or nine years old. I started when I was five and have certificates and newspaper clippings of my dance class and I really wish I had carried on with it!

3. I am frightened (and I mean REALLY frightened) of Dogs! It doesn't matter on the size, they all scare me so much that I freeze and almost want to be sick!
  • Then post a picture I Lurve - CheckThis is one of my favourite pictures at the moment, I love the look on Emily's face and how loving Adam is.

  • Then finally nominate 5 lovelies for Cherry on top award - Check
Now a few of these lovely ladies have already received this award, but I wanted to nominate them anyway as they always leave me such lovely comments.
And another big Thank you to Jen, you always leave such lovely comments too.
Night all

Blogging thoughts

I have been thinking about my blog a lot lately, then while I was catching up on blog reading I came across this post from Sian about planning your posts. It immediately caught my attention and I started thinking more about the content of my blog.

I am worried that my blog is becoming boring, As I am a SAHM at the moment (without a car I may add!) I don't really get up to much other than looking after children and of course my crafts. I don't have any really exciting stories to share as I don't really go anywhere, so with that in mind I have decided to change the way that I post. This isn't set in stone as I may decide it is too much hard work, Lol!

I have devised a blogging schedule, I am going to start with a few days then build it up if it is working ok. So here goes:

MONDAYS will now be Scrapbooking/Papercraft day, I will share current projects or ideas of things I am going to make. This will also help with my memory of what I want to make when I can no longer remember!!!!

TUESDAYS I am going to leave for the moment, I do have an idea though!

WEDNESDAYS are also going to be left for the moment.

THURSDAYS will be knitting related.

FRIDAYS will be dedicated to Project 365, That way I may actually get a bit more up to date!

SATURDAYS will now be for 'Photo of the week', I'm quite excited about this one and I hope I actually get some good piccys to share!

SUNDAYS will remain 'Getting to know you Sundays' where I answer the questions set every Sunday on THIS BLOG.

I will still do random posts here and there with things that spring up and I am going to blog through Learn Something New Everyday rather than save up a weeks worth of pages for the Monday.

.....And as it is Monday today, I had better kick-start the schedule. I have managed to complete June's Document 2010!!!! Go me!

Well, I think that's about it for the moment. Let me know what you think, is there a particular day that you will be paying attention to?

Getting to Know You Sunday

It's Sunday again! So here we go.......

1. If you accidentally knick a car in a parking lot..Do you leave a note or do you get the heck out of there? I think it depends if there is damage! If I bumped it and there wasn't any damage then I would go, go, go!

2. Love your body or plastic surgery? Ask me in 10 years! At the moment I am trying to get my 'pre-baby' weight back!

3. What about your favorite blog(s) continues to drive you back? Humour, variety and piccys.

4. What percent of your blog is BS just to make your life seem more interesting than it really is? What a question! NOTHING! I would make up more elaborate things if that was the case!

5. If you had to give up one type of meat for the rest of your life, what would it be? Chicken! I could quite happily not eat it now!

6. How often to you eat out? Not so much since we have had children, maybe Anniversary's etc. We have been out recently with family on holiday but I think the question was aimed at us as a couple.

7. Skinny jeans or boot cut jeans? Neither! I can't pull off either of them! I have to go with straight leg (not skinny) jeans!

8. If you caught your spouse cheating would you forgive, divorce, or plan your kill? Another mad question! Not that I want to really think about it but I would plan my kill!!!!!

What would you do?
I can't believe a year has passed since I took this online class, I also cant believe that I have had my blog for almost 2 years! Anyway, off topic there slightly.... It is about to start again.

I'm looking forward to doing this again and have been thinking about the style of my album etc for 2010. I've just looked through my LSNED 2009 to jog my memory on the content so I know how much room I need.

Are you taking part too?

2 Already!

In a couple of weeks Adam will be two! I don't know where the time has gone!
So I have been busy organising a couple of things, Firstly I have finished making the Mickey Mouse Invitations.................

Adam is mad on Mickey Mouse so I have decided to go with that for a theme!
As children get thoroughly spoilt by everyone on Birthday's and Christmases, I have decided to make one of his presents and then we will buy him clothes and probably put money into his bank account.
Wanna see what I've made?
It's not knitted!
Adam LOVES tags and Labels! When he is sleepy and every night when he goes to bed, he has to hold the label on his blanket. He insists on bringing his big blanket downstairs every morning and will carry it around for ages (falling over it numerous times along the way!). So I have made him a label blanket.....A smaller blanket for him to snuggle with and it is loaded with tons of labels!!!!

Now I haven't used a sewing machine since I left school, I have a small craft one which I used for scrapbooking but it runs on batteries so really it is no comparison! I borrowed my mum's sewing machine to make this and it all came flooding back quite quickly. I literally finished it
20 minutes ago! The back of it is fleece and very snuggly!
Hopefully he will love it!

The second (1st) cardy and a little friend!

I have been doing bits of knitting in between other things and after I finished the flower cardigan I picked up the other cardy that I started first (how confusing!) this is the one that I took to Norfolk to finish only to discover that I didn't have enough wool to finish it! Argghhh! It was so close to being finished too!
It didn't take very long to finish off and sew together and here it is..... being modelled by it's owner.........
......And as promised, here is cute owl's little sister - complete with girly bow!

Of course I had to take a piccy of it with it's new owner!

Ahhh, so peaceful! They can sometimes be the nicest when they are sleeping! Lol!

He couldn't wait until Christmas!!!!

We went to a huge model place while we were in Norfolk that sold everything you could think of to do with models/building toys. There was Lego, meccano, k'nex, playmobile, duplo, trains, doll houses, farm animals, scalextric, model cars.... the list is endless!!!

Not only did Adam enjoy it but so did Grandad and Daddy! Adam hasn't really discovered Thomas the Tank YET, he is mad on Mickey Mouse and Handy Manny so his eyes widened when he saw this giant Thomas........

He knew it was a train even though he didn't know it was Thomas and ran up to it saying 'choo choo'!

Steve was in his element in the remote control car section and it was hard to drag him away from it, He has wanted one for a long time! Grandad had already brought a remote control car from another shop and it was charging back at the Caravan so when we got home the boys decided to chase Adam with it and he was in his element running away from it (and after it)!

As Steve was drooling over the cars so much I thought that one would make a good Christmas present but when Steve wants something so bad he gets too excited to wait for a Birthday/Christmas, A bit like how excited I get when I find the perfect prezzie - this post will explain everything!!!

He talked about them for the remainder of the holiday and ended up ordering one the day we came home.........Tuesday arrives and guess what has been built and up and running a few hours after he got home from work...............

Just needs to be painted now!

He just couldn't wait!

Emily is three months old

Well, she is three months and one week old!

I found a good little wool shop today in Norwich. They sold just knitting supplies and were spinning yarn in the corner on spinning wheels, its so nice to see a shop like that as they do not seem to exist much nowadays. I brought some lovely soft baby cashmerino in a pretty pink and cream colour and a new crochet hook.

Lots of projects

I participated in Shimelle's online crop over the weekend and managed to complete a few pages which I will share when I get home from Norfolk.

I also have several knitting projects on the go, I finished the owl which I will photo in daylight and I have two cardigans in the making.

I started one and brought it with me to Norfolk ready to finish as it is so close, I managed to get quite a lot done then went to change my yarn as I ran out and I couldn't find the second ball of yarn! I have a feeling I have left it at home on the couch in my mad packing frenzy!!

So I have started another one as I brought plenty of bits with me, hopefully I get one project finished this week!

It rained here today but look at that rainbow!!!!

What a day!

I broke my posting streak yesterday, I had managed to post 15 days in a row but I just ran out of time.

It turned into a manic day, I spent a chunk of the morning packing for our week away to Norfolk so my head was in a million places trying to remember everything required for two little ones!!

Emily was supposed to have her first set of jabs at 1.30pm but the doctors rang me and said they couldn't do it at that time so could I come down straight away!

Why does a sudden change of plan mess up your brains schedule? That threw me for the rest of the day and I couldn't remember what I had/had not packed and whether I was coming or going!

After Emily's jabs we went to baby massage then it was all systems go as we bundled in the car for the drive to Norfolk!!!
