Loving taking pictures for my pages!

I am really enjoying Shimelle's new online class, I have always loved taking photos and this has made me think about how I take photos. I can already see a massive difference in my pictures and I love it!

This picture of Emily was taken especially for this class and I wouldn't of normally put her on the carpet to take a piccy, my usual method would be in her bouncer or with Adam.

The page has been created using a sketch from the class:

We were challenged to use multiple photos on a page, for this prompt I have done two pages. The first is digital and the second is my usual paper form of scrapping.

What do you think? The pictures in the second page were taken using the hipstamatic app on the iPhone.

It's finished and I love it!

After months of fitting in little bits of tidying and sorting I finally finished organising my craft room and it is now easier to work in.

The unit is from the expedit range at ikea and I brought a set of drawers and decorated them to match in with my room.

Now that it is finished I can focus more on scrapbooking when I go into my craft room!!!

One, Two, Four!

Adam is growing up too fast and is at an adorable age (22 months) where he is learning everyday and he says and does the sweetest/funniest things.
He has started to count, every time we walk down/up the stairs or if I give him an orange etc I will count the number of steps/orange segments and over a period of time this has registered and now Adam will count with me.....

Only he seems to not like the number three! When we count it is always 1,2,4! I will say 'no, three!' and the response is always the same...... 4! He knows that 4 comes after 3, he just doesn't like saying 3!
We have had a busy day today, Adam, Emily and myself went to Lunch club at the local children's centre but they are holding lunch club outside at the moment as the weather is warmer (only we were rained on today!). Adam really enjoyed himself after the initial shock of everyone sitting on blankets with food!
I managed to snap him but didn't realise his mouth was still full until mid-picture!

When it comes to taking photos I mainly photograph people/things indoors and as I mentioned in yesterday's post - they are mainly of Adam and Emily. So for today I branched out a little, with the photo of Adam with his picnic and this little photo-shoot with one of the little one's teddies. I tried to remember some of the previous prompts and played around with the settings and angles. The pictures have a slight blue glow to them as they were taken early evening but I quite like the effect it has had on the bear!

Finally we have a series of photos, I liked the idea of telling a story through the pictures and will be looking for more ideas for this prompt! I have been meaning to blog about my album progress for a while so this was the perfect opportunity! I have recently brought a new unit for my craft room, I was inspired by Sharyn to have a sort-out after she posted about re-organising her craft room and I fell in love with the ikea unit she had and just HAD to get one! So after a long sorting out process I have finally finished organising albums and supplies (will post pictures of craft room later).

The idea for organising my scrapbook albums came from Laura after reading a post on her blog, I already had a couple of American craft D-ring albums and had been looking for a way to label them for a while and Laura's looked so neat so I just had to copy that idea!

Blimey! Sorry if I have rambled, I had a lot to share today!

Baby massage and colic!!!!

We have discovered that Emily has colic, the poor little girl started crying a lot in the evening and is having trouble with bringing up wind. We have been trying drops which seem to be working at the moment and it has eased off a bit but you can tell she is still uncomfortable - I am going to get some gripe water tomorrow!
This morning I went to my local children's centre for the baby massage, Emily really enjoyed it and looked so relaxed. It has helped tonight, instead of crying for a couple of hours it reduced to 30 mins and extra burps! So I will be doing that again!!!! I really enjoyed it too, it was nice to have an hour for just Emily and me to bond on our own.
I have lots of pics to share today!
My completed layout using a sketch from prompt 10 of LYP,LYP:
Another layout using a sketch from prompt 11:

Prompt 12 was a tutorial on how to add texture to a photo. I had lots of favourites and couldn't choose so it was collage time again!
I particularly love this cute little pic of Emily:

I tend to photograph Adam and Emily the most and there are a few random day pics thrown in there too for my 365 project. I had a mini photo-shoot with Emily as she is more patient with me than Adam at the moment! Adam will run away after two photos and ignore me!!!!

I like the colours of the dress against the teddy bear rug behind Emily - another pic to add to the to-be-scrap(book)ed pile!

Wedding 1 and GTKY Sunday

We went to Wedding one of two yesterday and had a lovely day, sadly I didn't manage to get many photos as we spent most of the day running around after Adam. He thought it was very funny to see Mummy and Daddy chase him around! He was very good in the church and didn't make a sound - he started dancing to the hymns and clapped when the happy couple were pronounced man and wife!

On with my Sunday tradition..........

Getting to Know You Sunday

1. Thong or Granny Panties?

Neither really, but if I have to choose between the two it's a Thong!

2. If you see a guy with his fly down, do you tell him?

Only if i know him! I don't think I could pluck up the courage to tell a complete stranger that!

3. Spanx or no Spanx?

I haven't tried these yet so no spanx!

4. Do you sleep in your sheets?

Yes, I get terribly cold in bed - even in the Summer!

5. What is your favorite Disney character?

Donkey from Shrek : )

6. Dream vacation spot?

Somewhere hot where I can chill out by the pool!!!

7. What is your dream job?

Running my own training Academy.

8. Who is your hero and why?

Steve, we have been through a lot together in 11 years!

Wedding season is upon us

Please excuse my absence from blogland, we went away again this week to Norfolk (trying to go away as much as poss in the nice weather while Steve shifts allows us to). I have only just caught up again on general household chores including copious amounts of children's washing!
We have two weddings coming up, one this weekend and one next weekend so while I was away I brought a lovely dress to wear and today I have finally managed to sort my nails out. I am feeling a little bit more like the old me again!
Here is (a bit late!) the photos for Prompt 10 of LYP,LYP, using the world as a tripod. I really like the garden shots of Adams toys from ground level and from above.

And of course I had to include a piccy of my newly organised scrapbook albums!

GTKY Sunday

1. If you had to choose a country to live in besides USA (or the country you live in), which would it be?

From all the countries that I have visited so far I would have to say Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife but I haven't visited everywhere so that could change!

2. Which would be worse, wearing flip flops in the snow or wearing gloves in the summer?

Flip flops in the snow!!!! I suffer with cold feet anyway so that would be horrible!

3. Fried or Bake and why?

Bake, I like to keep healthy but a fry up is good every so often!

4. If you were an entertainment reporter, which celeb would you love to interview and why?

Ooh that's a tough one! I think I would interview Russell Brand! I would find it fascinating just listening to him.

5. What was your favorite book as a preteen/teenager?

I read the Babysitter's club books when I was preteen, I had loads of them! Then I kinda went off books in my teens although I loved Charlottes Web.

6. List your top 3 guilty pleasure television shows.

Big Brother, Britain's next top model (or ANTM, they alternate) and Desperate Housewives. I know, sad! I don't watch a lot of TV though, these are the fav's at the moment.

7. What bumper sticker slogan best describes you/your attitude/your life?

Live life with a smile!

8. If you were to join a circus - what performer would you be?

The backstage Beautician! I wouldn't want to break a nail! Lol!

Some more pages

Before I go to bed I just wanted to share a couple more bits, Prompt 5 & 6 from LYP,LYP:

This page was created using a sketch from prompt 5, I used to be mad about the colour pink and when I still lived with my parents I decorated my room bright pink! It was so bright that when I moved out my dad insisted it was re-painted as it gave him a headache!!! I really don't think he felt right sitting in a cerise pink office!
My love of the colour came with me, but in small doses! I had outgrown the bright walls! Now?...........
........Well you know me by now! It's Red all the way baby!
I had a play with the digi titles that Shimelle gave us in Prompt 6 to create this:

I don't know whether to scrap it or not! What do you think? Did anyone out there actually scrap this prompt after adding a title? Answers on a postcard please!

This and that!

I have managed to complete May's document 2010, really must get on and do June next!
As usual here is the 'month' page and I went with a mellow colour scheme for this, which I am loving!
My two pages for the bits and bobs of May - including Emily arriving!

This is the first proper Brother and Sister photo we took and I love it! Adam looks so happy and proud to be cuddling Emily - he is still like that at the moment. I wonder how long it will last!

I managed to scrap this layout using a sketch from prompt 4 of Love your pics, Love your pages. I love the concentration on Adam's face while he is eating his sarnie, he was staring at a group of teenage lads playing football in the park and desperately wanted to join in!
I really am loving my pics this month! I have just printed out a selection to scrap and I love all of them!!

Emily is 2 months old!!!

Where has the time gone? ..........

I managed to catch this cute little smile from Emily, we get lots of little smiles but are not at the smile-on-demand stage so I was so pleased that I got this.

I took it on my iPhone and then used my new app - Swankolab, it let's you add lots of different yummy effects to your pictures.

Can't wait to scrap this!!!

I am quite surprised that I haven't shared one of my passions yet!!!

I own a shocking almost 200 pairs!! I haven't counted in a while!
I just can't get enough of them, My favs are high heels, especially this pair at the front:

They are black with white polka dots and I call them my Minnie Mouse shoes just because they are spotty. This shoe-shot was taken for Shimelle's new class, I was playing with depth and thought what better way to show you my fav shoes!

After my shoe photo session, I was playing with Adam (or rather he was jumping on me!) and I managed to get another photo that shows depth:

For today's task we had to shoot some lovely weather pictures.........
........in comes the rain!!!
However I am quite pleased with my raindrops and grey skies, what do you think? My neighbours must think I am mad photographing the washing line!

It may have been greyer than a pencil today but over the weekend I did manage to get some sunshine pictures when we were away, Shimelle must have known! I love how fluffy the clouds look.
