Pumpkin Carving

I did it! It took a couple hours from start to finish, but it was well worth it! I used a template from this website I found and followed the instructions provided. There were so many designs to choose from and I was stuck between two! (I wish I had 2 pumpkins) I dedided on the cheeky design and can't wait to put it outside when it gets dark.

Testing Windows live writer

Writing this seems a little strange as I’m using Windows Live writer to make a post on my blog. It is going to take a little getting used to as it is different from the usual setup, but so far I’m quite liking it. It does seem a lot easier to open up this program and to just start typing.
On another note I’m about to get out the Christmas stash once again! I need to continue with the next project which is my Christmas planner. I have thought for a couple of years about doing one, then I saw an article in Papercraft inspirations on one that Jane Dean had made and it has inspired me to try it this year.

I decided to buy a pumpkin after all, They have come down in price at Tesco and so I couldn't resist. I had so much fun last I carved a pumpkin and can't wait to do it again. It does get a little messy, Adam is a little young to help at the moment but I did take these cut pics of him intrigued by it! I also brought a cute little pumpkin carving set.

New technology!

Firstly apologies for not blogging yest, my DH and I went out and brought a copy of Windows 7 and since our current version was Windows XP I had to sit and backup ALL my files! You can imagine as a scrapbooker how many there would be!!!! We do have an external hardrive, but for some reason it still took a while and (rather ashamedly) I had never backed up my itunes! (Lesson learnt there!!) So 5 DVD's later my itunes were safe!!!!

I have only just finished loading the new Windows 7 and re-downloading all my programmes such as itunes (still currently loading the 5 discs to itunes though!). It has taken so long as I have been looking after my 1 year old today, so as you can also imagine I haven't been able to do it until he naps - or my DH got home from work.

But we are finally up and running now and I am free to blog away!

New class! Blogging for scrapbookers!

I am taking Shimelle's new online class, I am really looking forward to it as it is all about blogging! I sometimes struggle for inspiration when it comes to blogging and I'm not always the best at updating it either! So hopefully this will inspire me and give me that much needed kick up the backside!

It's oh so quiet!

Our little boy stayed at his Nana and Granddad's last night and has been there most of today, So I had a lovely lay in this morning and I have had extra crafting time too!

I have completed two more pages of my calendar girls album and I plan to do a couple more soon as we are not expecting him back just yet.

I'm on Shimelle's blog, How exciting!

I am so chuffed, I was just browsing through Shimelle's blog at some older posts and noticed this post, I don't know why I missed it at the beginning of the month because I do check Shimelle's blog regularly, But I am so excited about it. It is such a nice feeling.

A very happy, smiley Rachel. x

Advent Calendar!

I know we are still in October, But I have started getting ahead with my Christmas projects and I thought this was a good place to start.

It is actually a countdown for December like the traditional advent, but I had to put numbers 0-9 on the tags to ensure I got all the days on. Then I thought I might as well put numbers 0-9 on the other side as well! So it actually can start from 99. I photographed it for today with the actual number of days left!! Scary stuff! The year is going way to quick!

Calendar girls update!

I have completed a few more pages of the calendar girls album, I was a bit tired last night when completing the double page and I should of stopped then! But I didn't and have made a mistake on the page - Can you spot it?

It's nearly here!

I love Hallow e'en, I think the kids always look great and they put in so much effort with their costumes. This year, as always, all the children in our families will be coming around 'trick or treating' dressed up in all kinds of scary outfits.

As Adam gets older we may throw a few more Hallow e'en parties like we used to in our old house, We had great fun carving the pumpkin at our first Hallow e'en party - I didn't realise it could be quite so messy!

So in the spirit of Hallow e'en I have put spiders in my nails - not real ones of course! Hope you like them!

I've just heard!

Oh my goodness! I really hope it isn't true but I've just found out about Scrapbook Inspirations being no more! I am devastated, I have brought every copy since issue one and I read it from cover to cover and then back again! It has brought inspiration to a lot of people and I think they will all be very sad to see it go!

Calendar girls - more pages.

Well what a week! We haven't had proper Internet access for a little while - yes I went slightly bonkers! - So now that it is working again I can continue to blog! Yay! I have been working on the next set of pages for my Calendar girls album, So far I am up to May. I am getting slightly distracted at the moment though as there is a yellow Scrapagogo box downstairs beckoning me to open it!

Inside cover, Calendar cover, January & February

Here are the pages so far for my new project, the photos used on the LO's are the actual photos used for the calendar.

January is promoting Jessica nail polish.

February is promoting SP hair products.

So cute!

I was looking at Shimelle's website and saw this cute website on there so I had to have a play! Look at these! (Old pic of me!)

Ooh look at the lovely little gem I received in the post! Not sure what I am going to do with it yet, but oh the possibilities!

At the moment I am working on a new project, It is one of those projects that you have been meaning to do for a while and this one has been on the 'to scrap' list for 3 years! Oh the shame!

When I worked at the beauty salon we decided to team up with our local hairdressers and do a calendar for charity, wait for it.......... a naked calendar! Tastefully done of course, just like the film 'calendar girls' we had so much fun and raised about £2,000 for charity.

The calendar was on sale in all of our local shops and we used local companies to help with the printing etc, all the girls in the calendar took care of the photography, hair, make-up and nails (my job). We also appeared in the paper and in a very popular Nail trade magazine - Scratch.
So I am finally getting around to making an album on it! Here is a sneak peak of the cover:
Ignore the book ring, it is keeping the pages together!
