I have just been thinking about Christmas trees after I saw a post on the 'journal your Christmas' forum at http://shimelle.com/. I am really looking forward to decorating my Christmas trees (plural as I have 5!) this year, more so than any other year as we now have Adam - who will be almost 3 and a half months old at Christmas! He already stares at normal lights and they make him smile and I can't wait to see his face when the Christmas lights go up!
The reason I have 5 Christmas trees is because I adore them, I would rather have Christmas trees spread everywhere across the house than any other decoration! (Which in fact is what normally happens).
I have a 7ft tree in the living room, a 5ft tree in the conservatory (which we bought with us from the old house - I didn't have the heart to throw it away as it is so old!) A 3ft tree in the hall (which is a funky silver colour - the rest are traditional green) and we have two little ones upstairs. I have one in my craft room and we have one in our bedroom. They are all artificial as I have too many to have real ones!
We make a day out of putting the decorations up, it's a tradition DH and I started when we moved in together. DH sits on the sofa and watches Christmas movies and I put up the decs. I like it this way though as I am very particular about my trees!!! (I know it is sad!) This year we have made a compromise as I want to put them up on the 1st and DH wants to put them up on the 12th! So it will be the 6th this year!
Christmas is my most favourite time of the year. I get very excited and always want to put the decorations up on the 30th November!!! I have to wait a few weeks though as my DH refuses to get them out of the loft before the 6th!!! Normally it's way after though, much to my disappointment!
So this year I am taking the online "Journal your Christmas!" scrapbooking class from Shimelle.com, which I can't wait to start!!!! You get a prompt a day through December and up to the 6th January to do a scrapbook page on the theme of Christmas.
I have my box of xmas stash ready, my desk is clear, my getting ready guide is front and centre and now all I have to do is a little preparation and I'm set!!!
I started scrapbooking in 2005 after I married my school sweetheart and my love of pretty paper has flourished. We have a Son, Adam and a Daughter, Emily and we all live in Kent in the UK. As well as scrapbooking, I like to make Felt things in my spare time.
I also run Bits of Stationery which keeps me busy!
